Matt Haywood

CEO

Matt is the force of innovation at Tazergy.

Tazergy is the result of his extensive experience in Senior Living , Construction, and Technology.

After he graduated Duke University, he spent 5 years at EdenCare designing and implementing, what was then, advanced IT systems. After migrating these communities to Sunrise Senior Living, he became IT Field Services Manager for Sunrise.

As Field Services Manager Matt had the responsibility of turn-key coordination of all IT aspects for the marketing offices and new community openings. He gained important experience in the following areas:

  • Temporary Marketing Trailers/Offices
  • New Community Opening
  • Acquisition/Divestitures

After 2 years, he advanced to become Construction Manager for Sunrise North America. As a Construction Manager, Matt was responsible for finding, qualifying and selecting General Contractors for the new community construction projects within the Southeast region. The new role afforded him a significantly expanded and intimate perspective of the entire operation of senior living communities.

In June 2009 he formed a partnership and started an IT company, NEO Solutions, which focused on the Senior Living Industry.

The partnership dissolved early 2012 and Matt formed Tazergy Inc. in April of the same year.

Larry Kaskel

President

Larry matches Matt’s innovation with his strong business sense.

He is also experienced in Senior Living, Construction, and Technology.

Larry began his career as a technician in the low voltage world installing smart home systems and later owned a low voltage company in the early 90’s where he began servicing computers. He then joined a local technology company as the Director of Technical Services where he managed the design and implementation of networking systems for small business. Larry expanded the role to the design and construction of data centers for clients, such as Sylvan Learning Center.

Larry was an instructor at The Howard Community College, and in 2000, he became the Senior Project Manager for The Kennedy Krieger Institute, a world renowned medical facility specializing in the needs of children with developmental disabilities. He was responsible for the development of key construction projects, including the Marcus Institute, a 100,000 square-foot outpatient facility in Atlanta, Georgia.

After many years of successful projects with Kennedy Krieger, Larry accepted the position of Director of Construction Management with Sunrise Senior Living.  His first project was the completion of an 880,000 square-foot, $190 million, flagship senior living facility: Fox Hill.

Bill Burkhart

Vice President Business Development

Bill provides solid field operations oversight, so projects deliver as promised.

Beginning his career working in Lakenheath, UK for the 48th Air Force contracting office (his wife was enlisted). He was responsible for purchasing a range of products, from hospital equipment to IT equipment for mission critical deployments.

Back in the states at Lackland AFB, Texas, where Bill was a lab equipment and computer hardware buyer for the University of Texas at San Antonio. After her service, his wife attended attend law school at Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX.

In Lubbock, Bill mastered several key roles at Sunrise Senior Living such as, Senior Systems Analyst for Resident Safety system to Telecom Project Manager to IT Field Service Manager. Sunrise acquired Marriott communities after his joining the team, so his responsibilities were expanded.

Sunrise was a very fast pace environment with an average of 25 new construction projects, 20 retrofits and numerous acquisitions that kept him very busy. Bill had the opportunity to visit many of the Resident Safety system companies to get a real idea of their operations and how they support their customers. He had a chance to work both on the IT and operations side, which gave him great experience from working with executives, owners, consultants and IT personnel.

Heather Waring Tansy

Vice President of Operations

Heather Waring Tansy serves Tazergy, Inc. as Vice President of Operations. An instrumental part of the founding team, Heather possesses nine years of experience in the IT industry, specifically focused on project management, procurement, logistics and customer service operations. The last four years have been dedicated specifically to providing quality client services to the owners, operators, staff, and most importantly, the residents of the senior living facilities that Tazergy serves.

Heather’s background is heavily weighted towards coordinating VOIP, security, video and physical security procurement, delivery and deployment. Heather also brings a diverse platform of marketing and management skills to the table, effectively rounding out Tazergy’s executive team.

Tazergy’s inception and its focus toward the senior living community sparked an interest and a drive to work for a respected, integrity-driven company. She looks forward to assisting Tazergy and its clients create wonderful relationships that will endure for many years.

A graduate of the University of Georgia, Heather has spent years assisting businesses reach their full potential by creating and implementing efficient and effective customer service procedures. Her experience has been gained in several different industries including real estate, human resources placement and the IT industry.

Together, Heather and her husband, Brian, have a family of five children and three dogs…. and no sanity left! They are well versed in all kids’ activities, elementary through college! They stay very busy coordinating hectic schedules for everyone. When time allows, Heather likes to retreat to the golf course for a “very casual” round of golf. Travel to warm and tropical destinations is a favorite diversion as well.

Tina Roberts

Financial Controller

Tina joined Tazergy in January 2016.

Tina worked in the banking industry for over 12 years, prior to college. She graduated from the University of Georgia with her BBA in Accounting. Straight out of college, she worked for four years at a CPA firm in Atlanta where she gained experience and exposure to all facets of public accounting. During her time at the CPA firm, she worked on Fiduciary, Individual and Business tax returns. She was afforded the opportunity to become the firm’s Financial Administrator. In this position she gained invaluable experience in the internal accounting functions of the firm. She and the team she managed were responsible for the financial statements and summaries required for the internal accounting and human resource functions. In addition, Tina prepared the corporate federal and state tax returns for the firm, as well as for two other partnerships associated with her employer.

Tina left public accounting to further her career and experience in private industry where she joined an IT Solutions company that specialized in VOIP, security, and data collaboration networks. Here, as the Accounting Manager, she expanded her knowledge and understanding of the inner workings of a small company as she took on the increased financial management responsibilities of building and developing an Accounting Department. Tina created and implemented several efficiencies within her department including improved processes and procedures, expediting reconciliations and analyses of accounts.

With nine years of progressive accounting responsibilities and experience in corporate and private accounting, Tina is very excited to be part of the Tazergy family and help to take it to the next level in business practices by providing relative financial data on services provided.

Tina currently lives in Cumming, GA with her family.

Alysia Haywood

Vice President of Sales and Client Experience

Alysia Haywood joined Tazergy in an official capacity in January of 2017.  She has worked for many months behind the scenes to launch our newly formed Account Management team.

With a degree earned at the University of Alabama, Alysia developed a diverse set of sales and business management skills.  Working for various hardware, software and technology research companies, she honed her knowledge of IT, sales, and account management.  She worked for a very successful Cisco reseller for many years, then went on to a major security software/backup manufacturer and most recently worked for Gartner; a well-known technology research firm. She is very familiar with various technologies including hardware, software, networking, VOIP, IT research, and executive consulting.

Embracing the position of Vice President of Sales and Client Experience, Alysia will promote new business growth for Tazergy and the development of Tazergy account management team.  Her team will focus on fostering existing relationships, improving customer communication and satisfaction at every level and help better position Tazergy into the senior living industry.  Tazergy’s growth and commitment to excellence in the Senior Living arena will be the goal of her department.

As her last name suggests, Alysia is married to Matt Haywood, Tazergy’s founder.  They have been married for 11 years.  She and Matt have two young children, Meredith and Jonah.  During family time she enjoys dancing, living room dance parties, yoga, and hanging out with her friends.
